Cherry Blossom Movie - Sunset in Washington DC
(2004)

The weather in Washington D.C. is as unpredictable as anywhere else. If you are walking from a hotel or metro to view the Cherry Blossoms, be prepared. Hopefully it will be a sunny, clear day in the city. We are preparing a Cherry Blossom Festival Tips to help out with the basics.

This movie loop shows a typical sunset in CherryBlossomLand... if we're lucky. Looking across the tidal basin towards Virginia, with the Jefferson Memorial on the left, the sun will go down in a perfect position for photos in late March and early April, during the peak Cherry Blossom blooming.

A photograph (below) taken at the same time as the movie shows the Tidal Basin - Jefferson Memorial - at sunset on a beautiful spring day. Remember your camera - and extra film or digital memory - when you leave your hotel room.
